Preview first. Organize with care.

A profile saves the folders, categories, filters, action, and collision choices for a repeatable organization job.

1. 01Open Profiles and choose New Profile.
2. 02Select the folder or folders Orderly should review, such as Downloads, Desktop, or a project folder.
3. 03Choose the built-in categories you want to include and select Move or Copy.
4. 04Add filters or collision behavior if needed, then save the profile.
5. 05Choose Preview to scan the selected locations and prepare the first plan.

Preview scans the selected folders and produces proposed file actions and destinations. It does not move or copy files.

1. 01Review the summary and the individual file actions.
2. 02Check the planned destination paths and any skipped or unavailable items.
3. 03If the plan needs changes, edit the profile and create a new Preview.
4. 04Choose Run only when you approve the plan.

Filters can narrow which files a profile includes. When a destination already contains a file with the same name, the collision rule controls the outcome.

• Include or exclude extensions and file-name patterns.
• Exclude folders, limit by size or date, and choose whether subfolders are included.
• For matching names, choose keep both with a new name, skip, or overwrite.
• Keep both is the safer choice when you are unsure. Overwrite replaces the destination file and Undo cannot restore that replaced version.

Orderly records completed runs locally. Undo follows the recorded paths and the files currently found there; it does not restore a saved snapshot.

• Move Undo moves the file currently at the recorded destination back if its original path is free.
• Copy Undo removes the file currently at the recorded destination and leaves the source in place.
• A later edit or replacement at a destination may be moved or deleted by Undo.
• Undo may be limited if files or paths change, the original path is occupied, or local run records are cleared.
• Keep independent backups of important files. Undo is not a backup system.

Watch monitors profile folders while Orderly is running. Watch alone detects changes; it does not organize files.

• The app window can close to the Windows system tray and continue watching.
• Choose Quit Orderly from the tray menu to stop the app and background watching.
• Auto-apply is a separate, optional setting that must be enabled explicitly for a profile whose rules you trust.
• Free Beta permits Auto-apply on one profile. Watch can be enabled on more than one profile.

Settings include appearance, completion notifications, report path privacy, and whether to check for updates at startup.

• The Free Beta interface is currently in English.
• An update check requests a version manifest from the official GitHub channel.
• Orderly shows an available version; the installer download begins only after you choose the download action.
• Orderly does not silently download or install updates.

Selected folder contents are processed locally and are not uploaded to KenoLabs for organization. Profiles, previews, History, Undo records, reports, and diagnostics are stored on your device.

• Optional feedback is sent only after you press Send.
• Feedback includes your chosen category and message plus limited technical context such as app version, operating-system platform, edition, environment, and a local installation identifier.
• Feedback does not attach files, file names, paths, profiles, History, logs, reports, ZIP files, or diagnostics.
• A network request may still expose ordinary connection information such as IP address and user agent to the service.
